Accountability to God:
Judged for What?
“So then every one of us:
shall give account of himself to God.”
(Romans 14:12 KJV)
Here is a table listing 18 categories of things or actions believers will be held accountable for on the Day of the Judgment of God:
So then every one of us:
Must Give God an Accounting
“So then every one of us:
shall give account of himself to God.”
(Romans 14:12 KJV)
Notice the Difference: It is one thing to call Jesus your Rabbi, or your Savior, it is another thing to make him your LORD. Lordship is an important missing element in many lukewarm church teachings today. Lukewarm teaching is warned about by Jesus himself. And it is typically present in materialistic and materially prosperous churches that have lots of money, and have lots of material influence.
Lukewarm teaching (including easy believe-ism, and sinner’s prayer salvation, that doesn’t include deep, thorough and complete repentance) creates a false sense of security and endangers individuals from being deceived about their salvation. Even as Judas himself was deceived about his own salvation. This whole scenario begs the question: how many today are walking around with a false sense of security about their own salvation. Jesus himself says there are many, and he lays the fault upon the pulpits that preach weak, watered down, and spineless feel good modern day preaching.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; buthe that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven [shall enter into the kingdom of heaven].
In other words, even those who call him, Lord, but do not make him Lord, and do not fully submit to his Lordship, and do not do the will of his Father, which is in heaven, are in danger of not entering into the kingdom of heaven.
In summary: again there’s a wide margin between calling Jesus Lord (in your mind, and according to your own terms), and making Jesus Lord (in reality, and according to God’s terms). Many of Jesus parables address this very topic.
It is vitally important that we get, receive, and fasten our faith down on God’s perspective on the subject. This also means we are to reject man’s perspective, the world’s perspective, and all the false teacher’s perspectives that are sent by the enemy as wolves and sheep’s clothing to deceive the multitudes, who are all enticed to walk along the wide road that leads to destruction. The very road that Jesus warns us about not walking along.
