How long will Liars

Be Tormented?

The Lake of Fire is a biblical concept described in the Book of Revelation. The duration of torment in the Lake of Fire varies in interpretation among Christians. Here’s a compilation of 10 KJV scriptures related to the Lake of Fire, along with their interpretations and key points:

By all accounts, the lake of fire is presented as an eternal, never ending, everlasting flame of tormenting fire.

.
Key words and phrases to consider:
  • everlasting fire
  • shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
  • cast into the lake of fire
  • their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever
  • everlasting contempt
  • cast into everlasting fire
  • suffering the vengeance of eternal fire

Is punishment for sin (lying) only temporary? Many teachers like to think, believe, and teach this idea.

If the Words of Prophets, Jesus, and the Apostles, were not so perfectly clear, and not so continuously repeated throughout the New and Old Testament, then one might make a case that punishment for sin is only temporary.  However, I believe, once you investigate the facts: You will see that the Gospel doesn’t allow for that “temporary punishment interpretation;”  and that those who teach differently, are not teaching the Gospel, but are in fact false teachers, false prophets, and false messiahs (who oppose the clear word of God), with an agenda that does not come down from our Father in heaven.

The Warnings of the Father and Son are clear. Anyone who disregards them, or tries to water them down, does so at the risk of their own soul. (Revelation 22:18-19)

“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”

  • Interpretation: This verse describes the devil’s fate, emphasizing eternal punishment.
  • Key point: Eternal torment for the devil.
.
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
.
  • Interpretation: Those not saved will face eternal punishment.
  • Key point: The Lake of Fire awaits those not in the Book of Life.

.

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake of fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
.
  • Interpretation: Unrepentant sinners will face the second death.
  • Key point: The Lake of Fire is the second death. Note: “Death” in the Bible = Separation from God. (Genesis 2:17: “for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”) Death does not mean extinction, or the lack of existence. God created and designed his children to be–immortal (1 Corinthians 15:53-56). Then God gave his children the choice: Choose to spend eternity with Him, or to spend eternity without Him. Those who perish in the lake of fire, perish from the land of the living, they miss out on their eternal inheritance planned, designed, and executed by the great sacrifice of God to redeem them from the pit of death, hades, hell, and ultimately, the lake of fire (which is reserved for the devil and his angels, and everyone who will follow and and ignorantly obey his evil ways–Matthew 25:41).
  • The clock is ticking. Every soul is being weighed in the balance. Those who accept God’s Perspective, God’s Conditions, and His Sacrifice, enter into His Eternal Life. Those who reject them, enter into eternal death — a place of eternal suffering, called the second death (a.k.a., the lake of fire). The two are basically synonymous.
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.”
.
  • Interpretation: The wicked will face eternal punishment.
  • Key point: Everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
.
5. Revelation 14:11
“And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
.
  • Interpretation: Eternal torment for those who worship the beast.
  • Key point: No rest day or night in eternal torment.
.
“And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”
.
  • Interpretation: Eternal life or eternal contempt.
  • Key point: Eternal consequences for all.
.
“Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.”
.
  • Interpretation: The importance of avoiding sin to prevent eternal punishment.
  • Key point: Avoiding sin leads to eternal life.
.
“Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
.
  • Interpretation: Eternal fire as punishment for sinful cities.
  • Key point: Eternal fire as vengeance.
.
“Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.”
.
  • Interpretation: Eternal destruction for those who don’t know God.
  • Key point: Everlasting destruction away from God’s presence.
.
“And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.”
.
  • Interpretation: Continuous punishment for the wicked.
  • Key point: Unquenchable fire and undying worms.
.
The duration of the Lake of Fire’s torment is often understood as eternal, based on descriptions like “for ever and ever” and “everlasting fire.” However, some interpretations vary among Christian denominations and scholars.
Modern False Bible Translations: Let’s see how Modern Scholars try to delete, diminish, and dilute the clear, pure, powerful, and undeniably deep warnings and teachings from Jesus himself as recorded in Mark chapter 9:
43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched
  • 44   Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

[Verse 44, is deleted from Many Major so-called Scholarly Modern Translations, including: NIV, NASB, ESV, ERV,  Berean (Standard & Literal), New Living Translation, Amplified, Christian standard Bible, Good News Bible, Legacy, God’s Word translation, NET Bible, Weymouth, and others. Note: Modern translations will often put a verse in brackets […], and then tell you it really doesn’t belong there in a footnote, thus nullifying its existence.]
    .

45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

  • 46   Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

[Verse 46, is deleted from Many Major so-called Scholarly Modern Translations, including: NIV, NASB, ESV, ERV,  Berean (Standard & Literal), New Living Translation, Amplified, Legacy, Weymouth, and others]
    .

47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

  • 48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

    .

49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

What does the biblical reference for worm mean?

The term worm is used as a metaphor for a man in possibly a fearful or otherwise miserable state of mind.

Isaiah 41:14 (KJV)

14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel;
I will help thee, saith the LORD,
and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

(Job 25:6 KJV)
How much less man, [that is] a worm? and the son of man, [which is] a worm?

(Psalm 22:6 KJV)
But I [am] a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
[This is a clear prophecy about the Messiah]

Isaiah 53:3-5 (KJV)
3 He is despised and rejected of men;
[in a miserable state like a worm]
a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:
and we hid as it were our faces from him;
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs,
and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem him stricken,
smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.

[This is a clear prophecy about the Messiah]

Isaiah 66:23-24 (KJV)
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another,
and from one sabbath to another,
shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
24 And they shall go forth, and look
upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me:
for their worm shall not die,
neither shall their fire be quenched;
and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

[This is a clear prophecy about the Messiah]

Now we can clearly see, that Jesus Christ, the Messiah, is quoting the last verse in the book of Isaiah. This verse should’ve been quite familiar with all the Bible students in the audience, eagerly awaiting the Coming of the Messiah, and well versed in the Scriptures about the Messiah in the Old Testament, to whom Jesus was speaking.

In other words, Jesus was not saying anything new, but he is found here reinforcing that which is already been said. But it is sad that the new translations completely remove the very words of Jesus, from the very words (Mark 9:44,46, 48) quoting the Old Testament prophet Isaiah chapter 66 verse 24 the very last verse in Isaiah.

Below is a short video of demonstrates how there is a moderate shift and commercial Bible teachers, to delete the word of God from the word of God.

Below, is video clip of what I would definitely call a false teacher.

He tries to make a case against the testimony of Jesus in Mark chapter 9. This false teacher tries to tell his audience that Jesus isn’t saying, what he is saying. In other words, the teacher is saying that Jesus is saying one thing, but meaning another, which is spiritual ignorance. This reveals a demonic influence on the mind of the false teacher. He goes on to try and argue a case that is completely erroneous.

His primary error comes from the fact that he does not know, nor understand, God’s perspective on death. This teacher grossly misunderstands the simple doctrines of God because he has not taken the time to answer (from God’s perspective) some of the most basic questions like: What is Death?–From God’s Perspective.

To answer that in Short: Death from God’s Point of View is this: Separation from God.

That’s how God could say on the day that you eat from the tree, the knowledge of good and evil you shall surely die–and not be a liar. A very day eight from the tree of the miles they died spiritually. As a result, they were separated from God. If they did not correct that spiritual separation, they would also die. Thereby being permanently separated from God, thereby going to be like a fire forever. That would be the second death. The first death is a temporary separation from God. The second death is a permanent separation from God. Everyone born after was born into the first death, spiritual separation from God. But thankfully, everyone born into Adam, is given a choice to repent of their sin and be reunited with God. Thus avoiding the second death, which is permanent separation from God.

Trying to preach the gospel without understanding, this basic concept, will pervert the gospel and make all kinds of false assumptions about God, about the kingdom God, about salvation, about the Word of God, and the list goes on.

As soon as a person enters into a state of separation from God, that person becomes spiritually Dead. Unless that separation from God is corrected, that person will become permanently dead, and they will find a place ultimately in the lake a fire. In other words, every person whose name is not written in a lambs book of life, will be separated from God for eternity, and they will be cast into the fire that never goes out. That is the direct and pure teaching of God on the subject.

And finally, the only way to be reunited with God, and correct the problem of being spiritually separated from God according to God’s perspective, it’s to hear, believe, receive, and obey the gospel of Jesus Christ. Why is that? Because nobody else has paid the price, and nobody else could pay the price, in order to restore your broken relationship with God. Nobody else was born into this world without sin. Therefore anyone who want to choose to die for you–couldn’t. Yeah, why? Because they could not pay for their own sins, let alone your sins. Only Jesus, is qualified by God to be able to die and be a substitute offering for your sin. That is what his death accomplished on the cross. That is why he said it is finished. That is what makes I believe or claim before God. Not any effort of his own. Only the blood of Jesus can cleanse a man from his sin, and restore him in his relationship to God. And only by accepting, and complying with the wheel of God can a man destroy sin in his own life, and choose to become a child of God and be ultimately forgiven for sin.

That is why Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the father but through me.” (John 14)

THAT IS NOT A PROUD STATEMENT. JESUS is NOT BEING BOASTFUL. HE is BEING FACTUAL. HE IS SIMPLY SPEAKING THE TRUTH. JESUS HAS DONE WHAT NO OTHER PERSON ON EARTH HAS EVER DONE, OR EVER COULD DO. THAT’S WHY HE IS THE ONE AND ONLY SAVIOR of the world.

When a man or woman accepts the gospel, and repairs their broken relationship with God, they become born again. They receive the spirit of God. They become children of God. They overcome all the lies of the evil one. They repent of their sins. They put on the mindset, and life of the new man, Christ Jesus. They have fellowship with Christ, and he with them. They become members of the body of Christ, and citizens of heaven, not by some worldly group membership, but by a divine and heavenly order. As such: They put off the mindset, and the life of the old man (the man of sin and rebellion to God), the man of lies, the man of deception, the man of corruption, the man of evil and wickedness, no longer lives. He has died at the cross–that is the man in the flesh. The new man of the spirit has come forth.  The new man of the spirit is a man obedient to the spirit of God, the word of God, and the will of God. The new man that has become born again, is spiritually alive by the spirit of God, and looks (smells and lives) nothing like the former dead man of the flesh.

Those who proclaimed to be born again,  but do not live by the spirit of God, are not of God. They are deceiving themselves. And they was faced the same punishments as all those whose names are not written in the book of life.

In other words, you cannot fake your way into the kingdom of God. One man tried to do so. That man believed that his royal and earthly silk and priceless robes according to human evaluation would be good enough to wear to the wedding feast of the lamb. But he was wrong. Once he saw the Lord and master of the wedding feast, he was immediately rejected, and cast out into outer darkness, or there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, forever, and ever.

“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Matthew 22:14 (KJV)

Please note: this man below is a false teacher. I, in no way, endorse his teaching. I only offer it as an example of terrible doctrine from an ignorant mind, that is opposing God’s word, an attempting to turn people away from God’s message. I pray that you can see through this false teaching and the illusion the man is trying to conjure up.

The Misconceptions this man is teaching are sadly the imaginations and manipulations of his own mind.

This is how and why lying and deception leads to darkness and opens the door to more and more darkness and evil.
