How to Welcome God into Your Home—into your private space

You begin by meeting with Him in secret …

Matthew 6:5-9 (KJV) … They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven …

How can you prepare your House for His Visitation?

Have you ever done a spiritual inventory?

Have you ever thoroughly cleaned your Spiritual House from top to bottom?

Do you really want God to visit you frequently and in His Reality? Do you really want His Nearness, His Presence, His Delight to be in You, and to be living through You? Do you want His Wisdom, His Power, His Authority to be with you and in You? His Peace to watch over you? His Truth to Protect you? His Love to Fill you?

Then it is critical that you prepare yourself and your home, your physical and spiritual House, as a place where He can Abide with You, and where you and Abide with Him. For “apart from Him you can do Nothing” as He has said. If you are doing nothing, or next to nothing to further build, expand, and progress His Kingdom in your own life, and in the lives of those around you, then maybe now would be a good time to take yourself on a journey of doing your own person spiritual inventory. Let’s see what you have, what you don’t have, what you need and what you don’t need. What you need to get rid of and what you need to keep, and what you need to buy, and what you need to sell in order to make your spiritual journey a complete success. Let’s make it simple and clear. Real and Present. Let’s make no excuses, and let’s not market any lies, or false explanations. In other words: Let’s Get Real!

And for the record, it is recommended that we do “a spiritual inventory” on a regular and ongoing basis. Yahweh called His Chosen ones to fulfill the Feasts of the LORD every year–throughout His Feasts His people were confronted with His Spiritual Inventory of things to have and things to get rid of. So doing this work is not only a good idea, but a necessary and sound Biblical Practice for our own Spiritual Health, and Eternal Salvation.

In fact, it is a requirement to assure yourself that you are in the faith: “Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?” 2 Corinthians 13:5 (NASB) This is a critical point that must be addressed seriously and judiciously, without any deception, any distraction, or delusion. If we fail this Test, we fail in our faith, and the negative consequences are everlasting.

Revelation 3:19-21 (KJV)
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in [or on] my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

An Alternative Title to this Message could be: How Not to Welcome God into Our home.

Luke 13:22-30 (KJV)
And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. 23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24 Strive to enter in at the strait [narrow] gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence…

[Notice in Rev. 3:20, if we open the door, He says He will sup with us, and we with Him–and also here, these people claim the same, that they ate and drank with Him. But, can you see something went terribly wrong in their case? Can you tell what went wrong? Is it possible that they invited Him to have a meal and to have open fellowship with the Master, but still chose to walk in deception after the meal was over? Did they chose to hear His Word, but to not put His Word into Practice? Did they choose to listen to Him with apparent delight, but never chose to follow in His footsteps?  Is it possible that they heard His Words, but still chose to walk in opposition to them? Could it be that His commandment, to be zealous therefore and repent, was heard but never obeyed?

I posture to you, that if they had chosen to repent that day, the day He spoke His message of repentance to them, that they would all be in His Kingdom this day. One big deception we all fall into is that we have lots of time. That is a lie.

We don’t have lots of time. We only have this minute, this moment in which we live. We cannot live in the future, it has not happened yet. We cannot live in the past, it’s gone. We can only live in the present, make decisions in the present, and fulfill our commitments in the Present. Tomorrow is not promised. Now is all we have. With that in mind, let’s finish learning from the Master’s Words.

… and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. [that is what Yeshua calls a man who does not repent immediately–“a worker of iniquity” when Yeshua comes to a man and says, “Repent” and the man says, “Ok, maybe tomorrow.” He becomes a worker of iniquity. I know. I have been that man.] 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. 29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God [to have a meal in God’s Presence, and be invited to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb]. 30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

Above, (in Luke 13, and Revelation 3) we have two very strong and very memorable pictures about Two Very Different Doors.

So what does the Door Represent in the first Picture? It appears, the first Door above in (Rev. 3:20) is like a front door to a man’s home, and Yeshua (Jesus) is knocking on the door asking to be invited in. Yes? Is that how you read it? And there is a promise of having a meal together, something that is very intimate and personal in the Hebrew Culture. Sharing food and sharing Truth together is symbolic of sharing Life together, for food is the substance of physical Life, and Truth is the substance of Spiritual Life, both are the result of hard work, and diligent planning, and the celebration of having an abundance to be able to share with others in a spirit of generosity–that is the blessing of YHWH. This is all good.

But now let us consider the preparation for such an invitation. In order to invite guests over to have a meal, there necessitates a time of preparation right. Even father Abraham knew that. and such an offer to have time with Yeshua coming to your front door and then being invited into your living room and the possible scenarios you might encounter.

First, you will notice in verse 19, Yeshua is recommending, or rather commanding, that we repent. In context, Yeshua has just finished rebuking the church at Laodicea, for being, 1) wretched, 2) poor, 3) blind and 4) naked SPIRITUALLY, when they actually thought the opposite of themselves. They thought they were 1) righteous, 2) rich, 3) spiritually mature (seeing), 4) and alive CLOTHED IN GOOD WORKS. Apparently, they thought much more highly of themselves than they ought to have thought, thus breaking a cardinal rule, in the Kingdom of God.

They thought they were hot stuff, very hip spiritually, and on the money for being religious, and possibly for going to church, possibly having Bible studies, and men’s groups, and women’s groups, and a thriving children’s ministry, and lot’s of activity, bake sales, valentine day dinners, and the works, movie nights, men’s pro bowl game nights, etc., but apparently, it was all Lukewarm, and none of it was acceptable to Yeshua. Not one thing good did Yeshua have to say about the Laodicean Church. And guess which church best describes the Church in America, and in general in the Western World? If you guessed Laodicea, you would be right. Out of all the 7 different churches their problems and the descriptive circumstances, the Laodicean church best describes our modern day Evangelical/Protestant/Charismatic church movement. And Yeshua put his foot down so to speak on the neck of this church. He did not spend any words of praise. They were not at all complimented on their lukewarm nature and spiritual temperature.

Revelation 3:15-18 (KJV) I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Note: one of the predominant traits of the Laodicean church is that it didn’t stand out, it didn’t stand up, it didn’t openly and loudly proclaim who Yeshua was and what He has come to do. Why? Because they were fearful of persecution. Fearful of being treated poorly by the Roman Empire and the local pagan assemblies, so they kept a low profile, and focused on making money and being prosperous, in stead of focusing on being bold and calling men and women out of darkness into God’s Holy and Majestic Healing Light.

What about Works?

Apparently, works are very important to Yeshua, because He found their works insufficient in temperature, and possibly volume and character. No. Our works alone don’t save us, but without them, and without them being of a significant level, that attracts His Praise, they and we are clearly not acceptable to Him.

Second, let us look at Luke 13:22-30. This is another door picture. Only this time the door is not ours, but God’s. We are either on the inside, or the outside of God’s Door. This passage is not only dealing with the quality of our works, but is even more devastating, it is weighing the validity of even our Salvation, and our Acceptance into Heaven. Yikes! This is something these people apparently had taken for granted–and wrongly so (ever hear the phrase or the teaching {OSAS} “Once Saved Always Saved”. Now that may be true, there can be a case made for it, but it is often taught as a “fire insurance ticket”, or a “get out jail free card.” This sort of salvation is a figment of a man made religion. It does not exist in the Word of God. See for yourself.

See Verse: Luke 13:24: Apparently, on the day the door shut, those who thought they had a legitimate Salvation were shut out of the Kingdom. The question arises: Did they lose it? or Did they never have it? We are not exactly sure. A case could easily be made for a little bit of both. But what we can be sure about, and can clearly picture is that on the day the Door was closed? What happened? They were apparently not aware what day and what hour the door would be shut. Apparently, they were off doing other things, that were more important to them than to be carefully attending to the Master’s business. As a result, they clearly missed the deadline for their preparation, to enter the kingdom through the strait and narrow gate, and now their lack of preparation has caught them off guard. So, they were left outside of the Door, the day the door had shut. Why? We want to know. Why were they shut out?

Apparently, the Master of the House declared they He did not know these people who were protesting on the outside of the gate or door. In other words, they we counterfeit believers, they had no genuine relationship with YHWH. Apparently they never learned how to “Behold the Hand, and to Behold the Nail.” Apparently, they may have done many religious things outwardly, but inwardly they were not submitted and were not wholly devoted to the King who came to give them life, and to teach them how to be light bearers to those around them. They may have looked the part on the outside, but they truly lacked the Goods on this inside.

Apparently, the Master had previously warned his people to strive to enter through the narrow gate because “many” will try to enter in and will not be able. And this will be a devastating experience for all who were not ready the day, the Door was Shut. Apparently, there will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth, those are the descriptions used about those who are cast into outer darkness, into the pit, into the flame, into the lake of fire. This is not a happy ending for these people who apparently built their house on the sand, who decided to follow the broad road, to follow the way of the goats, the 5 foolish virgins, the one man with the one talent, the weeds, to be trees that bear no good fruit, to be fruitless vine branches that dry up and get cut off the vine and cast into the fire, these are the false prophets and false teachers that receive praise from men but do not seek the praise that comes from God only, these are the wolves in sheep’s clothing that walk around inventing ways that they can profit off of the sheep–make a bigger income, create a greater name for themselves, these are the weeds tares amongst the wheat that when they are full grown they have not edible kernel in the head of the plant, these are the foolish marriage invitees, that had something better to do, than attend the King’s Wedding of His Son, to His Bride.

Now before we leave this study and this topic and these two passages of scripture about doors, let’s do a little thinking and conceptualizing, and ask the Question: What kind of things do we have in our homes that would get in the way of Yeshua coming into our homes and abiding with us, and eating a meal with us? What might we want to clean out of our homes before we invite Yeshua to enter?

And let’s us be as specific and as biblically accurate, and definitive as possible, let’s try to avoid vague maybes, and stick to concrete absolutes. We don’t want to just throw out a lot of conjecture or sophisticated arguments, which usually turn into excuses, alibis, etc., later, we want hard evidence that will surely convict us and demonstrate our need for thorough life giving deep repentance.

But in this process of using our sanctified imaginations we need to try and picture in the spiritual realm of what is happening in the natural realm as we go into each room of our homes, and evaluating how welcoming, how honoring, how comforting, and how accommodating each one of our rooms is in our home, where we could freely invite the LORD, YHWH and His One and only Son to come spend a week with you in our current place of residence. And try to imagine what He would encounter and what would prompte a favorable and joyful response, from their side, and what might promote an unfavorable and joyless from their side and our side and as see and experience their lack of comfort, or outright displeasure and disgust of some of things they might encounter in our homes…

Let’s begin by setting the stage:

Your home is your place of intimacy, your place of personal preference, your place of individual values, individual choices, personal tastes, and individual pursuits, and all the things in your home reflect both the interior systems of your mind, and the exterior reflections and values of you Life.

The problem in our homes and in our lives, before we allow God in is that there is much space that has been occupied by things, forces, goals, and lies that are clearly filled with darkness–but we are so accustomed to the darkness in such things, in our worldly values, pleasures, and pursuits that we don’t always see immediately how less than flattering to God, and sometimes downright vile and hated are such things in His sight that remain in our house are, even after our conversion from Darkness to Light. And we being his bride, and the apple of His eye, have a duty to learn and discover all those things that are pleasing to Him, promote those things in our lives and fill our homes with such good treasures. And to also ask and seek and learn about all those things that are ugly, and sickly, and offensive and repulsive to Him.

Now once we begin the journey of learning those things that are pleasing to Him and we have a duty to pursue them as lifestyle choices and include those things into our homes, our schedules, our priorities, and our free time & space zones. And as we learn, the Christian, discipleship life and every true children of God and disciple of Yeshua, has certain needs to fulfill his academic as well and social role responsibilities.

and before he is allowed to expose the darkness of our eye, the darkness of our mind, and the darkness of our hearts, there is not much anus that doesn’t try to work against him, and Ernest pursuits, and

This begs the question, do we really want to invite God into our home, and to every living room in our home? Do we really want to give God access to the person who we really are on the inside, and not just the image we want others to see about us on the outside?

This is where the rubber meets the road. It is also where the shit hits the fan. Where are the make up comes off. Where the jewelry and decorations get set aside. Where the man and the woman become again naked before God. And the goal here is for them to be unashamed. Without fear. Without doubt. Without shame. Without guilt. Without a corrupt ego, or a corrupt mind, nor a corrupt heart, nor LSD, greedy, selfish, egocentric all, perverted, lazy, indifferent, complete, passive aggressive, judge mental, hypocritical, violent, angry, raging, temper tantrum of a person. Accusing God, using God, abusing God, distorting and defiling God‘s word, God‘s principles got it, God, gods personality, God‘s character, God‘s plan

Our visible physical house in which we live with its many rooms, it’s a pretty decent metaphor for our invisible spiritual home in which we live with his many rooms. This analogy provides a lot of space four development have a clear picture of how our physical lives reflect and illustrate our spiritual values and practices.

Normally when they preacher preaches a message on repentance he may cover 2 to 3 or possibly up to seven areas of necessary repentance, which is actually quite a lot to handle and one message.

In the following message there may be 20 to 30 to 50 areas of repentance being touched on. The goal here is not to bring confirmation condemnation that puts a person  in a position of gross self-hatred., But to help both individuals and families and groups to see the big picture and to address large areas of carnal mindsets and carnal living.

In the book of revelation chapter 3 verse 20 there is a beautiful picture of Jesus, yes you are, standing before the front door of your house, and knocking. He is waiting for A genuine, and a reasonable, and a faithful greeting at the door of your house with a an expectation to receive a true and just invitation to come into your home.

This can be taught in such a comforting and encouraging manner that it lacks any real power or reality to the true situation being presented.

Yes it would be the most beautiful and endearing thing to invite Jesus into your home.

But if you were like me, and like 99.99% of this worlds people raised on idolatry, and adultery, and lies, and rebellion, and witchcraft, and the hatred of God, as the foundation for the home, for relationships, for entertainment, for personal pursuits, hobbies, recreational sports, and the things that really determine personal choice send individual identity are all deeply saturated with Satan‘s worldly and evil and demonic lies and pictures, and references, and social, and emotional identifications, illusions, and out right despicable lies and sins.

If you have not yet been taught the vast differences between the kingdom of God, and the kingdom aceta, otherwise known the kingdom of this world versus the kingdom of heaven, this kind of list of sinful values and practices and pursuits and ideological foundations can be quite a shock to your system. We’re not Talking about smoking And drinking and chewing tobacco and going out with girls who do. We were talking about the very foundations of family life and western civilization and how we have turn the very hearts of our minds and our lives and our children’s and neighbors

spiritual replica of our invisible lives.

Behold I stand at the door and lock, if any man open the door, I will come in and suck with him and he with me.q

Now remember, God is a gentleman. What will happen when you invite God into your home, and yet you have an idol to Chumash sit in front and center in the living room where are you intend to receive God as an honored guest. What if he sees the shirts, pants, The tight jeans, the sexy cleavage, the revealing midsection clothing, the revealing leg clothing, all that were designed with the power of temptation and seduction in mind? How comfortable will you be inviting God into your room where you were all dressed up Insta little type high heels and fishnet stockings and a ruby red dress low cut at the top high cut at the legs on the sides etc. etc.? New paragraph

Of course it is the same for men wearing their skinny jeans tight T-shirts revealing designed enhancer picks biceps and abs, and there provocative hairstyling and search in order to create an image of lust and seduction and temptation that would attract total strangers and provoke thoughts of engaging in consensual sex?

What if God was to come into your recreation room/game room/ entertainment center room, and discover your bar with all the fixings for mixed drinks Mojito‘s, bloody Mary’s, dark Russians, and straight whiskey, gin, bourbon, And every other kind of booze? How comfortable is God going to be in that room? What about the entertainment center part of the room that has over 100 R-rated movies, that promotes sex promiscuity on my sexuality, violence, gang member stories, drug and kidnapping, sexual trafficking, and political and fantasy type stories of adventure and action and sexual immorality? Making them all look attractive and enjoyable and fun and promoting the good life?

What if you take him into your bathroom, and he sees oh you are medicines for all your ailments, that are caused by your lack of health healthy emotional, social, educational, spiritual, and social life.

What if you invite him into your study and he sees your desk, and your bookshelves, and you’re computer, your desktop and your laptop, and he sees the movies, and channels, and websites en Your History of watching sexually stimulating movies movie clips, and movie scenes of sexually seductive and exploitive contact. And websites devoted to out right vulgar and violent sexual perversion even having videos of homosexuality bisexuality, multiple partners, orgies, incest, and bestiality, having sex with animals,?

And on the wall you have pictures of yourself winning competitions, and feeding others in areas of strength, sports, hunting, and debate. And beside those pictures are are displayed your certificates for completing college courses, and humanistic degrees that reject God and reject his word, and reject his plan for healing and for life? How comfortable is God going to be in that room? Next you invite God to come into the library where do you think it’s safe, and then you realize the bookshelves are lined with literature that blaspheme is gods name, that teaches lies about God‘s nature, that promotes the worship of idols and they are at dollar tree of man, and the idolatry of man. And are also filled with stories of seduction, temptation, and perversion.

How comfortable do you think God will feel with you in this room? Now we go back into the kitchen.

And you open the fridge raider and it’s stocked with cold sugary drinks, that you’re addicted to, that caused you to have headaches, cause you to have candida in your intestinal track, cause IBS, irritable syndrome, that cause hypoglycemia, and diabetes, that cause excessive fat game, and fat retention. And all these foods cause you to be mentally an alert, an alert, non-alert, and a haze, without clarity, without precision discernment, without social and spiritual alertness, which lead you, and and such.

What if you add vitamin to your backyard what do you think that will be safe.?

And then you realize that you have set up your backyard to be a party center with the barbecue grill, and coolers, that you could fill quickly with wine and beer and drinks, I have a stereo system with speakers outdoors and your cool, slick, worldly music. It does not seek to honor guard nor even acknowledge him in anyway that is holy or pure or righteous or kind.

Next to take him into your garage and you think that will be more secular and safe in a place where you can show that you build projects for yourself in a place where you fix things for neighbors in a place where you make things of value and beauty. But as God walks around he sees the idolatry of your car, or your cars. That they are just an extension of your other worldly pursuits and worldly image, they promote your coolness, your sexiness, you’re provocative and idolatrous worship and image in this world. They are designed to show that you are keeping up with the Joneses, a contender A strong contender in the ever changing ever manipulating ever upgrading world of being on the top and en vogue with the latest car and the latest accessories to the car, ski ramps, surf racks, bike racks, kayak and canoe racks, racks for your small sailboat and best, and trailer for your camping gear, and all the latest and greatest accessories of music and entertainment on the road, To be an NV and a winner, and an Apex predator and the world of competition and recreation etc.

How comfortable do you think God will be in this space as well?

As noted, this article had little good things to say about the rooms in our houses? Why do you think that is? Well the intent is not to make the reader feel good. The intent is to reveal, and expose, and bring out into the light all the areas of our lives that are solidly in opposition to the king of heaven add to the world of life that he has to offer us. Another way to look at this, is to simply go into every room in our home, and the human heart, and ask God to reveal every single lie we have been raised on, we have believed in, we have founded our ambitions on, we have engaged in relationships through these lies, through these faults sense of security, false senses of pride, faults senses of value, faults senses of understanding, so that in almost every area of life, and every area of pursuit, and every area of thinking, And every area of feeling, and every area of belief, and faith, and practice, is overwhelming idolatrous, perverted, without light, without life, and rather full of darkness and death to the spiritual man God wants to raise up.

… And next to your computer there lies your calendar, and your planner, and all your appointments for the week, the months, and the coming year, and next to that is your five-year plan, and your 20 year plan, and guess what gods priorities, God‘s values, gods judgments, The preaching of God‘s word to the lost, and the preaching of God‘s kingdom to the saved, with the intent to bring conviction of sin, repentance, and the transformation of souls out of darkness into light, is completely, and conspicuously, absent I am your daily, weekly, yearly, schedule.

What do you feel in your heart God would say about such a calendar?

And right next to that is your checkbook, and your financial planner, and the folder with all your financial bills and purchases and titles and deeds and next to that as you’re living trust the inheritance you plan to hand down to your children and descendants.

And nowhere in your financial planning and documentation is there any true evidence of your commitment to discipleship, to missions, to evangelism, to the proclamation of the gospel one on one, and to small groups, nor two large audiences. And fact there is not one entry of sacrificial giving anywhere in all of year bookkeeping and or accounting records.

And such is the story of your home, oh but you also want to show God the treasures you have stored up, so return to the study and open the safe that has your living trust and you’re living well resting underneath your box is full of diamonds and gems and gold coins, that is resting underneath the colt 45 revolver and you’re 33 mm Glock with a 15 round blank with one in the cartridge one in the chamber. you have that’s loaded in case of an emergency. In case someone tries to steal your valuables he will have ampleAmmunition to take down five or six intruders, house breakers,

As you can see or maybe perceive, mini common and completely acceptable worldly standards, and worldly beliefs, and worldly practices, are intimately enter twined in to our own beliefs systems, our own practices, our own worldly pursuits, our own daily living experiences.
