(Part 5)

3—Do I “Bear” [Take] the Name of the LORD in Honor or in Vain?

This is a huge commitment which is often misunderstood and overlooked.

This is one of the first signs, and first evidences clearly identifying of the “Have’s” from the “Have not’s” in the kingdom of God.

Exodus 20:7 (KJV)
Thou shalt not take [nor bear, nor represent]
The name of the LORD thy God in vain;

For the LORD will not hold him guiltless
That taketh his name in vain.

Careful PointGod is not just concerned about what you and I say: Far more than that, He cares about what you and I do, about who and what you and I will become. What is the essence of our Being? At the root, are we fundamentally being changed into the Image of God? Bearing His Name? So that all those around us would see God in our lives?

Would others deeply desire to seek God, because of what you say, and how you live? Would your life convict a sinner of his sins? Would your joy, convict the ungodly of their lack of God? (See Holy Joe, Cartoon Strip)

Will other believers be inspired by your life? Will they say of you: “There goes a man (or woman) who is following God!” Honoring God. Reflecting God. Abiding in God, and Loving his neighbor as God has directed him.

This is a significant covenant “Sign” of identity and honor.

This covenant Sign underlines the entirety of a man’s thoughts, words, and actions, revealing a man’s beliefs that cause, support, and drive his actions, making them visible and sentient to the world around him.

“How well do I bear the Name of God to my generation?”

Am I reborn, or born again into the Image of God, does His Light shine through my actions, my words, my thoughts and my prayers?

A good man, will bring forth good words (and good deeds), out of the good treasure stored up in his heart. Therefore, you will never see or hear a “good man” take or bear the “Name of the LORD” in vain. He will not say anything or do anything that would defile or besmirch the Name of the LORD. If he ever does, will he not repent quickly?

Luke 6:45-46 (KJV)
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for [out] of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

No man in an authentic relationship (Blood Covenant Relationship) with the Good Shepherd Himself, would ever desire, to say or do anything that would bring damage or dishonor to the Good Shepherd in anyway.

Note: “Many” who go to church, and even “Many” who are leaders in churches, will do such things (that dishonor the Good Shepherd), thus disqualifying themselves, due to the ignorance in them. The Word of God identifies such people “TARES” among the “WHEAT”. Such people are not planted by the LORD, but by an enemy of God.  More on this topic will be developed in other articles. See: Matthew 13:25)

If you or I do or say something wrong, evil, or perverse, thus bringing dishonor onto the Good Shepherd, and thus bringing shame upon the flock of God, or bringing impurity upon a child of God, thus causing even one child of God to be offended (Matthew 18:6), then it would be better for you or I, to tie an upper milestone (a round stone like a donut with a hole in the middle—used for grinding wheat) around our necks, and cast ourselves into the sea (Mark 9:42).

In other words, it would be far better for us to do that before we performed such an abominable act of unrighteousness in the presence of God (Luke 17:2).

Yes. God is Loving, but God is also Just!

By His own Word—He will surely repay every person for what He has done (Isaiah 59:18; Romans 12:19-21; Hebrews 10:30; 2 Thessalonians 1:6; Revelation 2:23;  Revelation 22:12).

Revelation 22:12 (KJV)
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be [according to what he has done].

Jeremiah 17:10 (KJV)
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Do we not know: He is in the Room with Us?

HE IS WATCHING, and he is SEEING, absolutely everything we say and do, and even knows our thoughts—such is the omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence of our Infinite God. Everything He see and hears, is recorded in His Books. Our lives will be rewarded according to what is written in those books.

If we are children of Light and Truth, bearing witness to His Goodness, Greatness, Mercy, Forgiveness, and Righteousness—worshipping “Yeshua” (Salvation) in Spirit and in Truth, then it is a good bet our lives and our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. (Revelation 3:5, 20:12, 15; 21:27; 22:19)

And if this is True, our lives are this Day, Bearing Witness, Bearing the Name of God with Honor.

If our lives are not bearing the Name of God with Honor, if our deeds are compromised, if our motivations are corrupted, if our hearts intentions do not measure up to the Word of God, we endanger ourselves. We jeopardize our lives and the lives of everyone around us. That is clearly not God’s will for our lives, but if we care not to STUDY HIS WILL, in order to LEARN & DO HIS WILL, and SHARE HIS WORD with others, then we will not be fruitful laborers in His Great Harvest.

It is not incumbent upon you and I to know specifically what things are being recorded about us, and what things we will have to give an answer for?

Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Would it not be stupid of me to go unprepared into my final exam?

To Stand before God without one clue?

To be completely ignorant before the Judge of the Universe, having spent my entire Life avoiding:

Life’s Most Difficult Questions?

  • Would I not look and be stupid, not having one good answer to all of Life’s Final Exam Questions?
  • Will it go well for me to be completely ignorant of all the crimes I have committed against God throughout my entire Lifetime?

Will that improve my standing before the Courts of Heaven, to remain ignorant?

What will happen if I am utterly unprepared to answer every question that God has already told me I will have to answer?

What is my excuse is: But I didn’t Know?

What if my answer is: “LORD, I refused to take any the time to study, learn, or share Your Word that would keep me out of Hell, and would ultimately make me acceptable to Heaven”? And Yes Lord, I ridiculed those who tried to share your word with me, and I persecuted those who tried to share your Word with my family, or my friends. I was proud, ignorant, arrogant, and yes, I, told them to: ‘Go to Hell!’

My dear Friend,

No. Ignorance to the Law of God, is not a valid excuse for breaking God’s Law.

Especially, because God and His prophets have paid such a high price to write done his Law (more on this later in other articles).

All God’s servants throughout the ages have paid a high price to preserve His Law, in their Lives, and to Share His Law and His Commandments with everyone on Earth to Read, Know, Understand, Follow, and Obey.

If I did not know it was a crime to steal, that would not make me innocent of the crime of thievery, the applies to murder, rape, lying, and adultery. I am guilty if I commit these crimes, and a Just Judge is obligated to punish all these crimes.

was prepared for me, to judge whether or not I am able to pass the bar examination, so that I can finally become a lawyer after 8 years of arduous studies to finally become a lawyer?

Now, Let’s say: All the answers to ALL the questions on the exam were given to me before hand.
And let’s say: I have only one chance to pass, only one examination to determine my final outcome.
And let’s say: The examine is being watching by all the Angels and all the Saints in Heaven.

And everything is covered

Do we not   that to continue to do any such evil behavior. NOTE ALSO: If you or I are prone to having “eyes of adultery” and prone to looking upon other women as sexual objects to be imagined to be used for our sexual lusts, then it would be better for you or I to pluck out our eye that is causing the problem, cut off our hand that would do the sin, and not to forget to cut off our foot that would cause us walk to walk away from the Good Shepherd,  choosing to sin against him, sin against His Father, sin against His Holy Spirit, sin against the other person who was created in His Image, and sin against our own conscience that He gave us to know the difference between right and wrong, clean and unclean, true and false behavior.
